Four draw types. One of each to check.
Every type is verified by identical machinery: one predeclared drand round, one committed entry list, and a recomputation anyone can repeat. Pick any of them and recompute it yourself.
Standard draw
Scattered ticket numbers from a fixed pool. The winning number is drawn from the whole advertised range; unsold numbers are skipped in a published, reproducible order.
- Ticket numbers
- Scattered (committed shuffle)
- Winner chosen by
- Draw from the full range, skipping unsold numbers
- Advertised cap
- Yes, the pool is a fixed number
- Runs unattended
- No, an operator starts it
A published draw of this type
None yet. This space fills itself from the ledger as soon as a standard draw is published, and shows nothing until then rather than borrowing an example from another type.
Instant-win draw
As a standard draw, with prizes attached to particular ticket numbers by a map committed before entries opened.
- Ticket numbers
- Scattered (committed shuffle)
- Winner chosen by
- Draw from the full range, skipping unsold numbers
- Advertised cap
- Yes, the pool is a fixed number
- Runs unattended
- No, an operator starts it
A published draw of this type
None yet. This space fills itself from the ledger as soon as a instant-win draw is published, and shows nothing until then rather than borrowing an example from another type.
Sequential draw
Tickets numbered in the order they are bought, with no advertised cap. The draw range is exactly the number sold, so the first number drawn always belongs to someone.
- Ticket numbers
- Sequential (order of purchase)
- Winner chosen by
- Draw from the full range, skipping unsold numbers
- Advertised cap
- No, the pool is however many sold
- Runs unattended
- No, an operator starts it
A published draw of this type
None yet. This space fills itself from the ledger as soon as a sequential draw is published, and shows nothing until then rather than borrowing an example from another type.
Auto-draw
A standard draw that closes and draws on a timer, unattended.
- Ticket numbers
- Scattered (committed shuffle)
- Winner chosen by
- Draw from the full range, skipping unsold numbers
- Advertised cap
- Yes, the pool is a fixed number
- Runs unattended
- Yes, closes and draws on a timer
A published draw of this type
None yet. This space fills itself from the ledger as soon as a auto-draw is published, and shows nothing until then rather than borrowing an example from another type.
What is the same in all four
The type changes how ticket numbers are handed out and what range the draw covers. It changes nothing about how the result is proved.
Every one of these draws names its drand round before entries open, fingerprints the entry list at close, has that fingerprint timestamped by an outside authority before the winning number exists, and publishes the result to a ledger outside the operator's infrastructure. No type introduces a second source of randomness, and none of them can be rerun.
So the check is identical too. Open any draw above and your browser fetches the randomness from drand, re-hashes the entry list and recomputes the winner without asking us for the answer.
